About the workshop: Are you struggling with a dog behavior issue or two? Confused by all the conflicting advice about training dogs? Does the notion that you HAVE TO BE YOUR DOG’S LEADER not sit right with you? Come to this workshop to get the answers to your questions and learn easy-to-do-and-understand dog training skills. You will learn that you don’t have to change who you are to have the well-behaved dog you want.
In this workshop, you will learn:
• How dogs learn and how what you ‘let go’ at home can undermine your training outside the home.
• How to read dog body language and respond accordingly to decrease conflict between you and your dog and between dogs.
• At home skills to make life more pleasant for you, your visitors and your dog.
• Out & about skills – leash walking & recall training – to prevent problem behaviors and promote safety for all.
• Get input on your dog’s specific behavior issues during the wrap-up Q & A session
What will my dog do during the workshop? This workshop will take place outdoors in the play yard at Nauset Pet Services. Your dog will not be free to roam the entire time but will be an active participant both on short and long leashes as well as off-leash (if safe to do so). If your dog is crate trained, consider bringing a crate with you. You will also need to bring dog food and/or treats and a toy that your dog will work for when faced with lots of distractions. What is the fee?
Fee: Working* (with your dog) $77 , Auditing (without your dog) $58
Early Bird Special – Working* $70, Non-EDOA Member Auditing* $50 Full payment (non-refundable) due by April 22, 2015 –
Eastham Dog Owners Association (EDOA) members – $40 per person for Auditing Spots * Full payment (non-refundable) due at registration
* All working spaces are on a first-come-first-serve basis and space is limited to 20 handler/dog teams.
** No limits on auditor spots. Please bring your own chair.
What does ‘auditing’ mean? You will be able to watch, listen and learn without having to account for your dog. You might want to audit the workshop if your dog has issues with people and other dogs. If your dog has behavior issues, please contact Vera to make sure attendance would be in the best interest of your dog and other participants.

Working (with your dog): To secure a working spot with your dog, prepaying via paypal is the best option.
Early Bird Working (April 22nd) and non-EDOA member Auditors (April 22nd) dates are firm.
Eastham Dog Owners Association (EDOA) members who wish to audit the workshop can register in advance via Paypal below or the day of the seminar. Payment in full is due and all fees are non-refundable.
