Dog Training and Behavior Services in Brookline, Greater Boston, and Eastern Massachusetts

The Cooperative Dog is based in Brookline, Massachusetts and works with dog owners throughout Greater Boston and beyond. Depending on the service you need, you may work with me in Brookline, attend classes in Brookline, Belmont, or Wellesley, meet virtually, or schedule private coaching or behavior consultation support based on location and availability.

How Service Area Works

Service area depends on the type of help you’re looking for. Some clients come to me for classes or on-site consultations. Others work with me virtually. In some cases, I travel for private coaching or behavior consultations. Because of that, the best way to think about service area is by service type rather than by a single mileage radius.

Group Classes in Brookline, Belmont, and Wellesley

Group classes are offered in Brookline, with additional classes through recreation departments including Wellesley and Belmont. Most group class clients travel in from nearby towns and neighborhoods throughout Greater Boston and MetroWest.

Whether you’re looking for puppy foundation training, family dog classes, reactive dog support, or help preparing for real-world life with your dog, classes can be a practical and supportive place to begin.

On-Site Consultations in Brookline

Many clients come to Brookline to work with me for private coaching and behavior support. This option can be especially helpful for people seeking focused, practical guidance in a structured setting.

For some behavior cases, traveling in for an on-site consultation is the best fit, including for clients coming from outside my usual travel area.

Virtual Dog Training and Behavior Support

Virtual consultations make it possible to work with dog owners throughout Massachusetts and beyond. This can be an excellent option for behavior cases, puppy planning, follow-up coaching, management support, and situations where travel is difficult.

Virtual support can also be a very effective way to get started quickly while deciding on next steps.

Private Coaching and Behavior Consultations by Location

In-home and travel-based services may be available in parts of Greater Boston and nearby communities depending on the nature of the case, location, and schedule. If you’re outside my usual travel area, we may still be able to work together through Brookline-based or virtual options.

If you’re not sure what makes the most sense, reach out and I can help you choose the best starting point.

Areas Commonly Served

The best way to understand my service area is by how people typically work with me. Some clients come for group classes in Brookline, Belmont, or Wellesley. Others contact me for Private Coaching, behavior consultations, on-site support, or virtual guidance depending on the issue and location.

Group Classes and Training Programs

Many clients travel to work with me through my group training programs.

  • My Brookline foundation classes, which I call Sunday School For Dogs, take place on Sundays.
  • My behavior classes in Brookline take place on Saturdays.
  • My Belmont Recreation classes take place on Thursday nights.
  • My Wellesley Recreation classes take place on Monday nights.

Because of those class locations, families often come from Brookline and nearby Boston neighborhoods, as well as surrounding communities including Cambridge, Watertown, Waltham, Arlington, Lexington, Belmont, Needham, Weston, Wellesley, Newton, and Quincy, depending on the program and schedule.

For many dog owners, these classes are a practical way to build real-life skills with structure, support, and guidance.

Brookline and Nearby Boston Neighborhoods

Brookline is my home base and an important center of my work.

In addition to classes held there, Brookline is also where many clients come for on-site training and behavior support. I regularly work with dog owners in Brookline, Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury, Roslindale, Brighton, Allston, Dorchester, South Boston, and other Boston neighborhoods, depending on the service needed.

For some families, Brookline is the most convenient place to attend class. For others, it is a practical location for more focused on-site support.

Belmont-Adjacent Class Areas

For dog owners in towns adjacent to Belmont, my Thursday night Belmont Recreation classes can be a convenient nearby option.

  • Belmont
  • Watertown
  • Waltham

Depending on the program and schedule, these classes may be a good fit for puppies, family dogs, and other dogs working on practical everyday skills.

Wellesley-Adjacent Class Areas

For dog owners in towns adjacent to Wellesley, my Monday night Wellesley Recreation classes may be a practical nearby option.

  • Wellesley
  • Needham

  • Newton

These classes are especially useful for dog owners looking for structured support with puppy training, family dog manners, and other everyday training goals.

Behavior Consultations, Private Coaching, and Virtual Support

Some areas contact me more often for individualized behavior support than for group classes.

Dog owners in Quincy, Milton, Dorchester, South Boston, and South Shore towns often reach out for:

  • in-home behavior consultations
  • on-site consultations
  • Private Coaching
  • virtual support

These services are especially important for dogs dealing with fear, reactivity, aggression, resource guarding, separation-related concerns, or other issues that need a more individualized plan.

While some Quincy clients currently also travel for my reactive dog class, many clients from these areas contact me first for consultation-based support.

MetroWest and Greater Boston

I also work with dog owners throughout Newton, Needham, Wellesley, Weston, Belmont, Watertown, Cambridge, Framingham, and nearby Greater Boston communities, depending on the service type, location, and schedule.

Some of these clients come for classes. Others work with me through Private Coaching, behavior consultations, on-site support, or virtual follow-up.
