About the Family Dog Program

The Family Dog Program is a structured training path for adolescent and adult dogs who need better everyday manners and smoother cooperation at home and out in the world. We focus on practical skills—walking, greetings, focus, and follow-through—built in a way that’s realistic for busy families.

The program progresses through sequential levels so you can strengthen reliability over time instead of trying to fix everything at once. You’ll leave with clear homework, real-life strategies, and skills that actually hold up when it matters.

Family Dog 1
$350 . 6 weeks
A clear reset for everyday manners: calm focus, leash walking foundations, and practical skills for living well together at home and out.

FD2

Family Dog 2
$350 • 6 weeks
Take reliability up a level with more distractions and real-world setups. Strengthen impulse control, responsiveness, and follow-through.

FD3

Family Dog 3
$350 • 6 weeks
Advanced practice for dogs who are ready for more. We’ll sharpen fluency, build duration and consistency, and work toward the kind of “easy dog” skills families feel every day.

Choose the payment option that fits how you want to participate. You can pay as you go for each seminar or class, or make it a program by prepaying for a planned sequence at a slightly reduced rate.

Class Info + What to Bring

Quick policies and what to bring so you can arrive ready.

Attendance + timing

Most group classes meet one hour per week for six weeks unless otherwise noted. Please plan to attend the full series. If you must miss a class, let me know as early as possible.

Vaccinations

Send digital proof of vaccinations before the first class (a veterinary invoice or rescue folder is fine). I don’t keep copies, but I do need to see proof. You may also email documentation in advance.

Equipment

Flat or martingale ID collar + nylon or leather leash (max 8 feet). No chain leashes or Flexi-leads. If your dog wears a harness/head halter/other walking tool, bring it—an ID collar is still required for class.

What to bring

Your dog’s favorite toy, dog food and/or high-value treats cut into tiny pieces, and a treat pouch/fanny pack/carpenter’s apron. Treat ideas: cooked chicken/turkey, freeze-dried liver, sliced hot dogs, or meaty training treats. Puppies can use their regular food as treats.

Dress + family attendance

Wear comfortable shoes and clothes suitable around dogs. No flip-flops or high heels (safety). Family members are welcome. Children may attend when accompanied by an adult.
